Review: Life Blood - H.K Savage - December 2010

Imagine going to sleep every night and having the most vivid dream and each night the same dream happens over and over again ? Then one day, you discover that the dream might not be a dream and in fact it could be a repressed memory hidden in the depths of your sub-consciousness ? Meet Ava , ever since she was a little girl - she has had the same dream over and over again . A dream where she was abducted and saved by a man, a man who made her feel safe and sound. As she grows up , Ava has in mind that the man who saved her is her dad who is now dead. She lives with the memory of this every day and believes in it. That is until one day when she meets Ben and what she believes will be chucked out the window - figuratively speaking. As Ben's eyes are the exact same match and warmth as she dreams about on the man who saved her that night. How can that be though as Ben is the same age as her and there is no way he could have been that old man who saved her when she was little or could he have been ? We learn about Ben's past and the dark secrets that he is keeping hidden and that his body is ageless ? This revelation though will cause Ava to go into a downward spiral as she must now re-look and decipher what is reality and what is fantasy/ made-up ? It seems though that it is vital that Ava doesn't remember as a serial killer is hot on her heels and if she starts to officially remember what happened that night, she could be next on the Serial Killer's hit list. Can Ben explain to Ava and keep her safe or will she do the normal human instinct and freak out and put herself in harms way ?
If you love Psychological Thrillers and Dream/Memory Repression then Life Blood by H.K Savage is the book for you. In a way this book reminded me of the similar situation between Daniel and Luce in the book "Fallen" with the dreams that turned out to be memories aspect or is this like Inception - where a dream is a dream within a dream.

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments.
