Review: Midnight on Julia Street - Ciji Ware

Review: Midnight on Julia Street- Time Travel Series #1 - Ciji Ware - August 2011

If you are wanting to settle down with a family saga book, then Ciji Ware is the author for you. The other thing to take into consideration though is that her books are quite lengthy in page numbers but they are amazing stories that captivate and draw the readers in and it makes you think about those involved as well. In Midnight on Julia Street, in modern today's world Corlis McCullogh has just moved into her house on Julia Street and is working in New Orleans as a TV journalist. When covering a wedding which does not go through where the bride is King Duvallon's sister ( her rival in College) , she finds herself fired and without a job. King feeling guilty gets her a small job which at least looks good on the resume. During her time here though, Corlis has found herself travelling back in time to the late 1800's where she has become her ancestor Corlis Bell McCullogh. What is causing her to go back in time and why ? When a newcomer Jeffries comes to try and sell the buildings on Canal Street to build new modern complexes , Corlis and King band together to stop the demolition by finding the original families ancestors who owned them ? What has her visions of the past got to do with today's problems especially the sale of the buildings and the relations and descendants of those she has witnessed in the past ?
Midnight on Julia Street by Ciji Ware was an amazing book, that I think all should read and fans of Deanna Raybourn will thoroughly enjoy her similarities in writing.
