Review: Catching Fire - Suzanne Collins

Review: Catching Fire - Book #2 The Hunger Games Trilogy - Suzanne Collins - September 2009

With the second movie in the trilogy out, I decided I better read the book before watching the film as I am the type of girl who would prefer to read the book first, then watch the movie . I had a fair idea what the second book was about , but it wasn't till I started reading it that I discovered I was in for a ride as Book #2 is when we witness the aftermath of what has happened since Peeta and Katniss both won the 74th Hunger Games. In Book #2 we read as due to the winning of not one but two people and from District 12 nonetheless , it has caused quite a stir and a revolution is building. Also this year is the Quarter Quell in which they bring back the tributes who are still alive every 25 years to compete in another form of The Hunger Games. It is normally just one boy and one girl from each district but can be from any winning year.  In District 12, they have had two male winners - Haymitch and Peeta but only one female = Katniss which means she is back in the arena.  Catching Fire compared to Book #1 tugs more on your emotions as we see the repurcussions played out more for breaking the rules from deaths to whippings to being made into a slave.
Will Katniss and Peeta survive another round of the Hunger Games or will this be goodbye to one or the other ?
Find out in Book #2 Catching Fire and read before you head to the movies to check out the flick.
