Review: The Evolution of Mara Dyer - Book #2 Mara Dyer- October 2012
At the end of Book #1 we read as Mara met Noah , her soulmate and someone who could understand what it was like to be different and to have an unusual ability that they couldn't share with the world. We also read the cliffhanger of her father being shot - Would Mr. Dyer survive the accident and was it really an accident or did Mara force the woman to pull the trigger ? Book #2 sees Mara committed to the psych hospital and focuses more on the fact she is institutionalized rather than her abilities out in the "real world" like Book #1 was. Book #2 also adds an intensity to readers as Jude who supposedly died at the beginning of Book #1 is back and he wants to exact revenge on Mara for killing his sister Claire - but will people think Mara is crazy as Jude is supposed to be dead.  The Evolution of Mara Dyer is quite hard to write as a review as it's a rather complex book that is really more character-focused rather than plot. As the title suggests , Book #2 really is reading as Mara develops and grows into her abilities and discovers the truth and her capability. A warning - the last chapter readers may need a tissue as you will be like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!! how could they do that to us. I personally, if there is to be a Book #3 not sure whether I will carry on with the series or not , but in saying that I will be intrigued to see what direction they take the book after the way Book #2 finished.

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers.
