Review: Notes from Ghost Town - Kate Ellison - February 2013
When I first picked up Notes from Ghost Town I wasn't sure what to expect , I had in mind that there would be a mystery aspect but other than that who knew. What I did get was an amazing story which covered not only ghosts, murder but also conspiracy and mental illnesses. The story starts with Olivia and her best friend Lucas Stern out playing and then they kiss , that would be the last time she saw him as the following week he would be dead and even worst her mother would be arrested for his murder. Ten months have passed , Olivia has been colorblind blind since the incident and is worried that she is catching her mother's mental illness - Schizophrenia. The novel then jumps to ten days before her mother's sentencing and she is met by Stern's ghost who tells her that her mother didn't kill him and that in order for him to cross to the other side , she has to help solve his murder. From there we read as Kate unscrambles a whole conspiracy and coverup and discovers that her mother is being framed. Who really killed Stern and why are they adamant to put Olivia's mum away for murder ?
Notes from a Ghost Town was a fast and enjoyable read and anyone who loves mystery novels will enjoy the chase that Kate Ellison develops .
