Review: Insurgent - Veronica Roth

Did you read "Divergent" by Veronica Roth and loved it ?
Be Prepared to read Book #2 Insurgent

Review: Insurgent - Book #2 Divergent Series - Veronica Roth - May 2012
As a big reader, one of my annoying things is that there are so many awesome books out there to read, that I never find the time to read the ones I should be or I go to read it and something comes up and then it takes me a while to get to it. This is what happened with Insurgent as I have had it for over a year to read and have only got around to reading it today at work. Insurgent takes us back into the world and lives of the factions and main characters Four and Tris. However in Insurgent we discover Four's real name is Tobias and his father is one of the high leaders of the Faction Umbrella - Marcus Eaton. With one of the factions destroyed - the Erudite's , it is read that the other groups are starting to band together as one but can all the factions live together in harmony or do the leaders within the groups have something else planned as told to children as a fairytale were myths of those out there called Divergents who had the ability to slip into either of two factions , they had special powers and were dangerous creatures.  Now Divergents have come to light and someone is hunting them which includes Four and Tris and needing them to be the frontline of the wars against factions. Can Tris and Four once again save those they love and help keep themselves out of trouble with deaths, gunshot wounds and stabbing galore ? What I did love about this book was the last chapter with Tris's Mother Edith Prior and revealing her True identity- that was a definite OMG moment and now I cannot wait to read Book #3 which comes out in August :)

Review: Nashville Part One: Ready to Reach - Inglath Cooper

Are you ready to "Twang and Strum" ?
Do you love the words "Nashville , Country Music, Singing" ?
Then reader's get ready for a 2 part serial from Author Inglath Cooper.

Review: Nashville Part One - Ready to Reach - Inglath Cooper - October 2012
Are you a country music fan as opposed to a rock n roll girl ? Or do you prefer both like myself ? Not many people in New Zealand are country western fans but myself I love it with awesome artists like Sara Evans , Joe Nichols, Luke Bryan, The JaneDear Girls etc my list could go on and on and I am actually headed on holiday to Nashville in December so I so can't totally wait - it will be awesomenest.
Nashville Part One introduces us to Two Guys, A Girl and her Dog not the Two guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place. On her way to Nashville with her belongings and her dog Hank Junior  is CeCe Mackenzie hoping to take her talent of being a singer to the stage. When CeCe's car suddenly breaks down, she is left stranded until two guys headed to Nashville on a gig drive past - Thomas Franklin and Holden Ashford. The pair then offer CeCe a ride and soon the pair becomes a threesome as CeCe moves into their apartment and is taken under the two guys wings. Can this threesome find fame, fortune and maybe even Love in Nashville ? Is this really their "City of Dreams" ?
A fast-paced novel that I really enjoyed and cannot wait to get stuck into book #2 , the only downside for me though was it finished too quickly and ended like halfway through an important scene - this is the only thing standing in the way of the book receiving a 5P rating instead of a 4P as it is.

Review: Forgotten - Melody Carlson

Are you a fan of Melody Carlson's Edgy Teen Fiction ?
Love to read how God can help us even in the worst of times ?

Review: Forgotten - Book #1 Secrets Series - Melody Carlson - August 2010
All Adele ever wanted was a normal life and one where she could be the child and not have to worry about paying the bills, clothing and rent . She could do teens stuff, hang out with her friends and have fun. However, not all of us get that choice and in a way I could relate to Adele as growing up I have had to miss out on things and have helped and still do carry the majority of bills for my family otherwise things would collapse or work out for the worst and life could be like Adele's and many others in the world. Adele's mother is a flighty bird who has bipolar and when she moves Adele to a new neighbourhood , a new school etc she promises Adele this time will be different and so Adele makes a new group of friends but it isn't long till her mother falls back into her old patterns but this time her mother disappears and takes off - she has never done this before. Soon Adele finds herself homeless with nowhere to go and finds a job and somewhere to sleep. Can Adele though keep up the facade as she attends school and can she keep up with the front she has created for her friends ? What will happen though when they discover the truth about Adele ? Will they dump her and prove that their friendship was superficial or will Adele discover who her "real" friends are through this hard time ?
Find out all this and more in this heart-wrenching story that will get you thinking about those who are "really' in the situation covered in Forgotten.
As in America according to statistics on http://www.dosomething.org/actnow/tipsandtools/11-facts-about-homeless-youth  - there is 1.7 Million homeless teens in America.

Review: The Adoration of Jenna Fox - Mary E. Pearson

Looking for one of teen's earliest look into Sci-fi and AI ?

Review: The Adoration of Jenna Fox - Book #1 Fox Series - Mary E. Pearson - April 2008
Years ago, reading books about Futuristic societies and cyberpunk wasn't very popular so when The Adoration of Jenna Fox came out I read it and loved the concept. Just recently at the library , we received Book #2 in this series, so since it had been like yonks since I had read The Adoration of Jenna Fox, I thought I would give it another go. The Adoration of Jenna Fox is a book that is a cross between Meg Cabot's Airhead, Being Nikki series and Robin Wasserman's Frozen etc - Lila's story. This story reads of Jenna Fox whom at seventeen as re-awoken from being in a coma for a year , however things feel strange as she can't remember bits of her past and so Jenna goes searching but what she will discover will be more stranger than reality. As "the" Jenna Fox is only really 10% of her past self ? What has happened and how is it that she can feel and remember bits from her life ?
An awesome mix of what it's like to re-awake from tragedy, have an amnesiac life and a touch of science fiction and dystopian.

The Council of Immortals has sworn to protect the Arc, whom they have identified as young Ella Monroe, a college freshman from Virginia living quietly and unaware of her powers or her past. But a renegade Chorý has other plans for the protection of a girl he has loved through the ages. Can Kale convince Ella of who she is, what she is destined to become, and what he once meant to her? Is he truly the best protector to shield the world from the devastating misuse of her powers that Laurent is bent on controlling? Or will the forbidden love they share and Kale’s cursed condition as a retched and hated Chorý be used against them both?
