Review: Life After Theft - Book #1 LAT Series - Aprilynne Pike - April 30th 2013
One of the things that I love most about being a book reviewer blogger, is that I get to sign up to all these awesome sites and recieve ARCs to great books. Life After Theft by Aprilynne Pike was available through Eidelweiss Books. Taking a break from her fantasy series , Aprilynne Pike decided to try her hand at something different. At first I wasn't sure what to expect and I can definitely say that this is one of those times where readers do not judge the book by it's cover.
Life After Theft takes us into the world of Jeff - he has just moved to a new school from Arizona and his wish of fitting in is about to go out the door as he stumbles across a girl lying in the school corridor. The girl turns out to be a ghost of former Miss Popular Kimberlee Schaffer who died over a year ago. It seems that Kimberlee has been waiting for someone to see her and help her carry out one thing before she can pass over to the other side. While on earth, Kimberlee was a severe Klepto and now in order to move forth she must return EVERYTHING that she ever stole, but being a ghost she needs help and since well.... Jeff is the only one who can see her, it's his duty.
Read as Jeff is embroiled into the life of Kimberlee and her thefts, from jail visits to suspensions and even the possibility of expulsion. Jeff will do absolutely anything and everything to get rid of Kimberlee - the former Popular chick.
Life After Theft reminded me a cross between The Ghost and the Goth series by Stacey Kade and a modern take of Robin Hood.
