Disrupted Lives
Review: Disrupted Lives - Brenda Youngerman- April 2011
Ever wondered whether it was just your family that seemed dysfunctional ? Disrupted Lives tells us the story of two families - The Lakes and The Kanes. The novel starts with Amelia , who we discover has been having the same dream over and over for the past twenty eight years , the dream that turned into a nightmare and reality- the handing over of her baby , not knowing whether it was dead or alive and if it was alive , who had adopted it . The novel then flicks over to the Lake family who are the parents that adopted Amelia and Darren's child and named him Benjamin Zee Lake. The novel lives in a way up to it's title as it flicks between the two families and into the past, their history and at times it does seem a bit disruptive and disjointed but as you get into the novel, you will find yourself hooked and eventually see the fragmented pieces forming together and flowing. The Novel has The Lakes and The Kanes re-look at their families as past grievances and newfound hopes are forgiven and discovered. Disrupted Lives is a wonderful family saga , that in parts will have you feeling all sorts of emotions from sadness to happiness. Definitely one to add to your TBR List if you are a fan of the Family Saga and Adoption based novels.

    Take care-
Jess- although I may show up as Fairday, the main character from my novel. I can't figure out why that happens sometimes and I can't fix it. :)
